History of Rakwal Rajputs


The Rakwal are a Rajput clan found mainly in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. They are Suryavanshi Rajput, descendants of Rama. Their immediate ancestor was Raja Abta Deo of Jammu, who founded a principality in Sialkot. Rakwal Rajputs are warriors and Landlord Rajputs, Rajouri of Jammu Kashmir is owned by Rakwal Rajputs, even they have so much land in Jammu and Kashmir


They are a Dogra sub-group, and their customs are similar to other Dogras. The Rakwal intermarry with the Sulehria, LangehAndotra, Bhalwal, Baghal, Charak and Jaj. Is the 7th highest caste in Rajputana. Rakwal Rajputs used a war cry on assault, was 'JAI DEV'. Now Jai Dev is mainly used to wish another Rajput person.
